Watercolour Painting Class

Watercolour Painting Class Workshop photo of students holding up their artworks

Consider taking one of Jennifer Lawson’s Watercolour Painting Classes:

“Explore the joys of watercolour, have fun, and learn the process from design to a finished painting. We will paint plain air (weather permitting) at Jennifer’s studio – the oldest house in Cowichan, with stunning views of the river, estuary, bay and Mt. Tzouhalem.

Discover many experimental ways of painting: come and enjoy a really unique experience—in one of B.C.’s most beautiful locations!”

Each workshop is two days long and includes all materials, snacks, and an organic hot lunch. All you need to bring is yourself! We work together step by step, from initial concept and sketching on-site through to completed painting. I keep the group small enough so that I have time to work one-on-one with each painter as required; this means you can be at any level, from beginner to experienced.

I host my watercolour painting class at home, in the garden, and in my studio.

Upcoming Class:

My next watercolour class will be on September 14 & 15 at 10 am – 4:30 pm.

Please email jlart@telus.net if interested!

Uncovering the Artist Within

Student Reviews

Here are some comments from former students:

“It was a lovely class on a beautiful weekend ( the last of summer, I think ) in your peaceful, picturesque garden ~ a memory I will treasure. Spending time with you, getting to know you better, and leaving inspired was wonderful. Above all, my goal was to get painting again, and I feel that I will do that now. It was such a friendly, easy group ~ sheer pleasure. And again, thank you for your care and encouragement.”

“I want to thank you so much for sharing your gift with us. I considered it a privilege to have had the opportunity to learn from you – there is so much to take in, but you made it very enjoyable as well as informative. It was much like what I expected, having only met you once – but I thought it would be a very relaxed atmosphere for a first taste of painting. You are very patient & a relaxed & gracious host. I am so excited to have finally begun this adventure and look forward to exploring & learning more.”

~ Alison

“Thank you for a very instructive and successful three days of your watercolour workshop! Having taken several drawing courses and one other watercolour course, I felt that your practical and relaxed teaching technique was helpful for really solidifying many concepts and opening up new ideas. Thanks for opening up your home and making us feel so very welcome! Best regards.”

~ Carol
